Designed in neoclassical style between 1811 and 1822 by Giuseppe Valadier, inside the northern gate in the Aurelian Walls, Piazza del Popolo was a place for public executions, the last one took place in 1826. Contains several status, an obelisk, fontana del Nettuno and the twin churches of Santa Maria.
