Located between the Palatine Hill and the Capitoline Hill, in Rome. Was the political and economical centre of Rome during the Republic. Emerged in the 7th century BC and mostly abandoned at the end of the 4th century. Columns and stone blocks are all that remain of some temples. The arch of Titus and the arch of Septimius Severus still stand.
