The <strong>Los Angeles Plaza Historic District<\/strong>, also known as <strong>El Pueblo de Los Angeles State Historic Park<\/strong>, is the historic district of Los Angeles, centered around the old plaza, known before as <strong>El Pueblo de la Reina de Los Angeles<\/strong>: it was the city&#8217;s center under Spanish (1781-1821), Mexican (1821-1847) and United States (after 1847) rule through most of the 19th Century.
