Oak Park is a popular tourist destination in the Chicago area, as many come to view the many Frank Lloyd Wright buildings (25 structures built between 1889 and 1913). Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio served as Wright’s private residence and workplace. In the Studio, Wright and his associates developed a new American architecture, the Prairie style. It has been restored, maintained, and operated as a museum by the The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. Other attractions in Oak Park include Ernest Hemingway’s birthplace home and his boyhood home, the Ernest Hemingway Museum, and the three Oak Park homes of Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs.
