Where ?
Brasov is located in the center of Romania, surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains.

History ?
– The city was built in 1211 by the Teutonic Order, big walls were erected to defend the Tatars and Turks.
– In the sixteenth century, Brasov (Kronstadt), metropolis of the Transylvanian Saxons, was an economic and political center.
– Since the Second World War and until 1989, many Germans migrated from Transylvania to Germany to become German citizens.

Today ?
Today, Brasov has only a small minority of Germans.
An important economic center, but also a tourist center and largest ski resort in Eastern Europe.
