Vicenza, in north-eastern Italy,in the Veneto region, with the Teatro Olimpico, the Basilica Palladiana, and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto in the surrounding area, was called “Vicenza, City of Palladio”. UNESCO inscribed the site on the World Heritage List in 1994.
Andrea Palladio (1508 –1580), influenced by Roman and Greek architecture, is considered the most influential individual in the history of Western architecture.
