Marseille Provence in France has been chosen to be European Capital of Culture in 2013 jointly with the Slovakian town of Košice.
All year long, hundreds of cultural and artistic events will take place throughout the Provence region: in Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Aubagne, Gardanne, Istres, La Ciotat, Martigues, Salon-de-Provence and, of course, Marseille.
In January, and throughout the year, they’re planning circuses, new galleries and venues, exhibitions, street entertainment, fireworks, open air concerts.
